ABOUT THE SEMINARY
WELCOME to The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. Welcome to a community of theological students and teachers in mission to the gospel of the crucified and risen Christ. Welcome to the information and conversation available at this site.
You may sense a longing to serve Christ in a different way. The church needs pastors, associates in ministry and deacons who are willing to prepare in a rigorous and spiritual setting. At LTSP you will find a distinctive and accredited academic setting with professors who have served as parish pastors and earned international respect for their teaching the Lutheran Confessions, Bible, theology, and practical skills for ministry. The Church of today needs leaders who are willing to be prepared by a faculty with a distinguished lineage- that is as scholars, teachers, and pastors. The seminary is fully accredited by the Association of Theological Schools, 10 Summit Park Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15275-1103, the major accrediting agency of theological seminaries in the United States and Canada. It is also fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, 3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104-2680. You may long for a community that will form you in worship and in your calling. At LTSP you will find kindred spirits who want to cultivate a community that celebrates relationships through worship, mutual support and consolation and mealtime conversations and laughter. You may be eager to study at a school that is innovative and flexible. LTSP is a seminary that is innovative in areas such as lay theological education, theological education with youth, multi-cultural concentrations, urban studies, music and liturgy and much more. There are a variety of full-time residency and part-time study possibilities available. You may wish to continue your education. At LTSP we have a large graduate program offering a Doctor of Ministry and a Master of Sacred Theology with a rich selection of courses taught by a distinguished faculty and at times convenient to busy pastors and church professionals. We invite you to take the next steps. Enjoy this website and feel free to ask questions. Call at 800-286-4616 or 215-248-4616 or email the Admissions Department at admissions@ltsp.edu. The Rev.
