ABOUT THE SEMINARY
Our focus is on "formation of individuals for
ministry in the midst of a community gathered around Jesus Christ." With fewer than
400 students matriculated (and about 75 others taking courses at any given time), LTSP is
able to truly focus on the individual. The profile of the "average" seminarian
has changed dramatically in the past decade. Second-career students comprise 75% of the
student body; women 50%; persons of color or language other than English, 37%; and
non-Lutherans, 35%. Students come from 20 states and 12 countries, representing over 20
denominations. Whether your goal is training for rostered ministry, pursuing a graduate degree, or enriching your life in the Christian faith, LTSP offers an appropriate study program with creative options to meet your needs. The nine-month academic year is a 4-1-4 format with additional opportunities for study during the summer.
