A full-time faculty of 22 persons is
committed to providing both personal and challenging educational opportunities
for students. Six of the faculty are women. Two are African American.
Two were born abroad -- in India and Australia. Through the past 135-plus
years, the faculty at the Seminary has been known for its academic
excellence.
Since a majority of faculty live on
campus, they are available to students in the classroom, in their
offices in Hagan Center, and in some cases at their homes.
In addition to information on this web site, our
catalogue will provide you with the current photographs, academic positions and
educational background. Also in the catalogue, you may find descriptions of all courses.
The academic calendar is a 4-1-4 model.
Classes normally begin the week after Labor Day and the Fall Semester
concludes before Christmas. A January Term involves special ministry
seminars and classes. The Spring Semester begins in early February
and concludes in early May.
The
Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia is accredited by the
Association of Theological Schools and by the Middle States Association.
