Philadelphia - City of Neighborhoods
|
Our attractive 14 acre campus is located in historic Mt. Airy neighborhood in the northwest corner of the city. The campus is easily accessed by car (only six miles from the Pennsylvania Turnpike) or public transit (only 20 minutes from Center City). Two commuter trains (R-7 and R-8) stop within 2/3 blocks of the campus. Students can use these trains for traveling throughout the city, visiting the neighborhoods, attending cultural land sports events, and gaining easy access for the airport. Surrounding the seminary are suburban neighborhoods and minutes away are small towns and rural areas. This accessible location provides students with a wide variety of field education opportunities in urban, suburban, small town, or rural settings.
Campus parking is available in the Reed lot, entrance from Gowen Avenue, and the Brossman lot adjacent to the Brossman center using the Germantown Avenue entrance. Handicapped and visitor spaces are located in the Brossman lot near the building entrance, which is located near the boiler plant and library. There are marked spaces in the Wiedemann lot for customers of the Augsburg Fortress book store, located in the Wiedemann building basement. Visitors to staff and faculty offices in the Brossman and Hagan centers should park in the Brossman lot and see the security guard at the guard station in the Brossman center.
