Dr. Katie Day has been teaching at LTSP since 1985 in the area of Church & Society. She offers courses which draw heavily on the social sciences (such as The Congregation in the Community) and social ethics (Alienation and Reconciliation, Economic Ethics.) She was ordained in the Presbyterian Church in 1978 and brings her experience with urban churches to her role as Director of the Urban Ministry Track. Her interest in city churches has also led to extensive research in African American congregations, community organizing and economic development. She is also kept busy with her children.

Professor Day was awarded The Charles A. Schieren Professor Endowed Chair on Tuesday, May 2, 2006, where she delivered her inaugural address as The Charles A. Schieren Professor with the theme "Theology and Social Science: Imagining a New Partnership." [listen online]
