Education: BA, Haverford College, 1980; CATS, Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary, 1991; PhD, Boston College (Philosophy), 1991. Theological studies at Institut Superieur Libre de Theologie et de Philosophie Religieuse, Paris, 1986, and Eberhard-Karls-Universitat, Tubingen (1982-84). Pastorate in California 1994-98. The primary focus of Dr. John Hoffmeyer's
theological work is the Trinity. He is especially interested in ways
that reflection on the Trinity can aid us in making the life and witness
of the church more realistic: That is, more in accordance with reality
as defined by the gospel. He has published on the German thinkers G.W.F.
Hegel and Friedrich Schleiermacher, and is currently working on a book
on trinitarian theology and consumerism. |
