The Program
As part of their "survival plan," many people are controlled by addictive behaviors, ranging from the familiar forms of alcohol and drug dependency to other behaviors, including, but not limited to, smoking, eating disorders, gambling, pornography, and workaholism. These behaviors profoundly impact individuals and their loved ones, and many leaders are not comfortable with the church’s response. This conference will examine addictive behaviors and appropriate responses that can lead to healing for individuals, their families, and communities of faith.
At the completion of the program, participants will be able to:
- Define addictive behaviors.
- Identify the variety of addictions.
- Discuss the relationship between a person’s survival plan and addiction.
- Compare and contrast effective responses and educational approaches for addictive behaviors when working with individuals, families and faith communities
