Dr. Frances S. Adeney, Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary,
KY
Frances S. Adeney is the Benfield Professor of Mission at Louisville
Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Before coming to Louisville Seminary
in 1999, Dr. Adeney held positions in sociology of religion and social
ethics at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, Satya
Wacana Christian University in Indonesia, and New College, Berkeley,
CA. Her publications include Christian Women in Indonesia: A Narrative
Study of Gender and Religion (Syracuse University Press, 2003), Christianity
and Human Rights: Ideas and Issues (SUNY Press, 2006) and Christians
Engage World Religions (Baker Publishing Co., forthcoming).
Dr. Carlos Cardoza-Orlandi, Columbia Theological Seminary, GA
Carlos Cardoza-Orlandi is associate professor of World Christianity
at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA, and actively participates
in inter-cultural and inter-religious activities in the Atlanta area,
the Caribbean, and Latin America. His areas of research and writing
include missiology in the Non-Western world and intercultural and
inter-religious studies. Mission: An Essential Guide (also in Spanish
and forthcoming in Korean) is among Cardoza-Orlandi's most recent
work.
Dr. Daniel Jeyaraj, Andover-Newton Theological School, MA
Daniel Jeyarai is Judson-DeFreitas Associate Professor of World Christianity
at Andover-Newton Theological School. His teaching and research primarily
deal with the dynamics of Christian missions and their interaction
with native cultures. He is a leading authority on the study of the
Tranquebar Mission and the emergence of Protestant churches in India
during the eighteenth century.
Prof. Jeyaraj has translated from German into English two major
monographs of Bartholomaeus Ziegenbalg (1682-1719), the first Protestant
missionary to South India, and thus has made a significant contribution
to the study of the history of Christianity in South India.
Dr. Craig Nessan, Wartburg Theological Seminary, IA
Craig Nessan is Professor of Contextual Theology and Academic Dean
at Wartburg Theological Seminary. He is co-author of the book The
Evangelizing Church: A Lutheran Contribution (edited by Craig Van
Gelder and Richard Bliese), and the author of Many Members, Yet One
Body: Committed Same-Gender Relationships and the Mission of the Church;
Give Us This Day: A Lutheran Proposal for Ending World Hunger; The
Air I Breathe is Wartburg Air: The Legacy of William H. Weiblen; Beyond
Maintenance to Mission: A Theology of the Congregation; Who is Christ
for Us? by Dietrich Bonhoeffer (translated, introduced and edited
with Renate Wind); Orthopraxis or Heresy: The North American Response
to Latin American Liberation Theology; and numerous articles and book
reviews.
Dr. Andrew Walls, University of Edinburgh, Scotland
Andrew Walls is former Director of the Centre for the Study of Christianity
in the Non-Western World, and has taught in Europe, Africa and America.
Dr. Walls is currently Honorary Professor at the University of Edinburgh
and Professor at the Akrofi-Christaller Centre in Ghana. His publications
include The Missionary Movement in Christian History and The Cross-Cultural
Process in Christian History.
