Seminary to celebrate King day with evening service

PHILADELPHIA--Dr. Addie Butler, Vice-President of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) will be the guest preacher at a special evening service of worship in celebration of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at 7 p.m. on Monday, January 20, 2003 in the chapel of The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia (LTSP). The public is invited to attend this free event.

In addition to serving the ELCA, Dr. Butler is the assistant dean at the Community College of Philadelphia. As a college administrator she deals with matters ranging from student problems to curriculum development. Dr. Butler, a resident of Philadelphia’s Mt. Airy section, is an avid reader and has particular interest in womanist theology. The ELCA is a 5.2 million member denomination.
