Future
of multicultural America
PHILADELPHIA--The future of multicultural America will be explored during a February 25 lecture series at The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia (LTSP). The topic for this year’s Hein-Fry Lecture Series will be I Have a Dream: Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Future of Multicultural America. Speakers for this event will include Dr. Justo González (9 a.m.), Professor of Church History at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA; Dr. Peter Paris (11 a.m.), Professor of Christian Social Ethics at Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, NJ; and the Rev. Dr. Katie Day (2 p.m.), LTSP Professor of Church and Society. The public is invited to this free event held on the seminary campus at 7301 Germantown Avenue in the city’s Mt. Airy section. The annual Hein-Fry lecture series is coordinated by the Division for Ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). This year’s subject, revolving around Martin Luther King Jr.’s famous "I have a dream" speech, addresses the issue of Dr. King’s legacy in our time. What dreams shall we dream? How shall we live? The Hein-Fry lecture will address such crucial questions, hoping to inspire a rich, broad and intense engagement with major questions about the future of multicultural America.
