Katie Day Schieren Endowed Chair Award Ceremony
Dr. Day received a warm reception from LTSP faculty, staff, and students. After accepting the chair, she presented her inaugural address -- "Theology and Social Science: Imagining a New Partnership." In her address, Dr. Day suggested that there are three ways in which social science can constructively contribute to theology:
Dr. Day is Professor of Church and Society and Director of the Metropolitan/Urban Concentration at LTSP. She has been teaching at LTSP since 1985 in the area of Church and Society. Her courses -- such as "The Congregation in the Community," "Alienation and Reconciliation," and "Economic Ethics" -- draw heavily on the social sciences. Listen online: MP3 file contents
