| LTSP APPOINTS NEW FOUNDATION EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Pastor Miller has served the seminary and foundation as Director of Development since July, 2002, as both a fundraiser and member of the seminary's senior management team. He succeeds J. Lawrence House, who resigned in August after 16 years of service. As Director of Development, Pr. Miller has overseen the ongoing $20 million capital campaign for campus renewal. He also served as project manager for the recently-completed Brossman Learning Center. In his new role, Pr. Miller will oversee both the comprehensive fundraising efforts of the Seminary, as well as management of the Seminary's endowment. Seminary president Philip D.W. Krey noted, "Pastor Miller is a loyal churchman and a gifted administrator with great skill in development. I have every confidence that he will keep the momentum of the capital campaign going as we continue the vital task of renewing the campus and strengthening the resources of the seminary." Reflecting on his appointment, Pr. Miller said: "I count it an extraordinary blessing and privilege to have been a part of the seminary community these past four years, returning to where my own preparation for ministry began 25 years ago. Working with models of dedication like Larry House, with models of vision like Phil Krey and the seminary and foundation boards, and helping to bring the seminary's vision to reality, has been incredibly fulfilling. I'm humbled by the confidence that the search committee, Foundation Board and Seminary Board have shown in me, and I look forward to continuing to serve out my ministry at this extraordinary institution." Pr. Miller, an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, is a graduate of Shenandoah University and The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg. He served as a pastor in several Pennsylvania communities for 16 years before coming to LTSP. Pr. Miller has also served on a number of regional and national church committees, as well as community and academic boards. A resident of Reading, PA, Pr. Miller is married and the father of two children. LTSP, one of eight schools of its kind in the 5-million-member Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (www.ECLA.org), is committed to preparing ordained and lay ministers of the Word as leaders for the mission of the Church in the world. LTSP awards first professional and advanced-level degrees to present and future church leaders. Almost 500 students study at the seminary. The student body is comprised mostly of Lutherans, but more than 35 percent are from 16 other faith backgrounds, including Episcopalian, Baptist, Presbyterian, United Methodist, United Church of Christ, the African Methodist Episcopal Church, and the Church of God in Christ.
