Fifty-nine Seminarians scheduled to graduate at Lutheran Seminary
commencement
PHILADELPHIA (May 2000) -Fifty-nine seminary students are
scheduled to receive degrees from The Lutheran Theological Seminary
(LTSP) at Philadelphia at the commencement on Sunday, May 21,
at 3 p.m. The event will take place on the Seminary's campus.
The special speaker for the day will be the Rev. William A.
Shafer, who was formerly Director of Seminary Services and now
serves as Interim Pastor at Messiah Lutheran Church in Newtown
Square, PA.
The commencement ceremony falls on a busy weekend for the
LTSP community. Dr. Philip D.
W. Krey will be installed as the Seminary's eleventh President
on Friday, May 19, at 3 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Timothy J. Wengert,
Professor of Reformation History at LTSP, will speak on that
occasion.
Candidates who are scheduled to receive the degree of Master
of Arts in Religion are Nancy James Deming and Magdalena Naanhule
ya-Shalongo.
The following candidates are scheduled to receive the degree
