Vincent
D. Ferguson
Chief of Safety and Security
Extension: 7502
Vince assumed the duties of safety and security chief upon the departure of former security director, Gralin Hughes. These two military veterans had worked in tandem for almost eight years, and shared a two-fold philosophy
and work ethic: (1) "Take care of your people, and the problems will take
care of themselves", and (2) "There are no problems, just decisions to
make". It is with this ethic in mind that Vince puts forth his best effort
each day to take care of the seminary's people and property. He is
responsible for the training, scheduling, and deployment of the assigned
officers, administration of the security office and its systems (CCTV and
access control), and supervision and testing of life safety systems.
A career Vietnam-era veteran with backgrounds in personnel administration,
correctional counseling, and occupational classification, Vince brings a
wealth of experience to his post. He is well-known for his professional,
courteous, no-nonsense demeanor with all members of the seminary community.
