New Students, Fall 2006

Dan Caruso

Dan CarusoIT HAS BEEN "A LONG AND WINDING ROAD" to get to LTSP. Although I grew to have a rich family and church life, and have done much in the leadership roles on the lay side of the congregation, I would never have imagined myself anywhere but in the pews on a typical Sunday morning. As a young adult I was always focused on the race to get ahead and to accomplish as much as possible. After graduating college, I promptly got a job in my field of Medical Technology and got married.

Through the years, my appetite for change has led me down a few different career paths. But I always seemed to find myself wanting something more. It took a long time for me to finally realize that all I had and all that I am is not of my doing but by the grace of God. When I finally recognized what I consider to be my sense of call, I was ready to respond. In a matter of just a few weeks I had gone from nothing to the application process of both the ELCA and LTSP. In a matter of a few months God has removed any and all barriers to me. and with the love and support of my wife Stacey and my two children Jacob and Sarah, I find myself here at LTSP.

In my short time here I have found a varied, loving, and inclusive community that has opened my eyes to many things I had not even considered before. I look forward to the opportunity to truly grow in this community and become a useful tool for the work of the Lord.
