Pastor Bill Bixby

Bill Bixby
is REALLY the name of
the person that the Lutheran
Theological Seminary at Philadelphia has called to serve as Director of
Theological Education with Youth. It's OK to ask him if he is related
to the actor by the same name (who rests in peace!), but don't do it
before he's had his morning mug of Hazelnut.
Bill Bixby
loves hot peppers, Indigo Girls and Keith Jarrett,
running, languages, winters with extreme amounts of snow,
anything
written by Dave Barry or Annie Dillard, and being the only guy in a
house with four exceptional women--OK, three are his daughters!
Bill Bixby
has served as pastor of three great congregations,
all of which were located near Philadephia, in the Southeastern
Pennsylvania Synod, and all of which were alive with totally excellent
youth of the ELCA, who taught him everything he knows. (OK, maybe not
everything--he did take driver's ed from the shop teacher back in...back in...)
Bill Bixby
has never been, nor ever plans to be, an actor inbarely successful television
concept shows or situation comedies, like "My Favorite Martian," "The
Courtship of Eddie's Father," or "The Incredible Hulk." (He did once
meet Lou Ferrigno outside a hotel elevator in New Jersey--ask him about it!)
Bill Bixby
rejoices in this new way to be in Christ by being
about a "cracklin' new creation"
(see 2 Corinthians 5:17) in this
project called TEY--Theological Education with Youth--which hopes to
bring together bright-shining youth of the church and radiant
teachers/believers of the church.
